On New Year's Day, the New York Times published an article on its front page where it scalded the Spanish firm Mango, for not offering to pay money into a $40 million compensation fund set up my other textile companies for the victims of a massive building collapse in Bangladesh back in April. The article notes that this fact was not mentioned at all in the Spanish press. What do you make of this story? Do you think Mango should be made to pay? Do you think the fact it was not mentioned in the press here is an act of censorship?

Science

A study by Spanish scientists has revealed that people speak in more logically and make more rational decisions when speaking a langauge that is not their native tongue. The study showed that people's decisions are affected by emotional factors when they speak their native langauge and thus are more prone to make illogical and irrational decisions. Out of experience, do you think this could be true? Do you think it's benefitial to work in multiple languages?

There has been a recent rise in tensions in the Basque country as the government and regional leaders wrestle over the touchy topic of prisoners and protests in favour of them and their actions. Do you agree with the government's policy of releasing ETA prisoners in an amnesty despite of their crimes?

Spain has recently offered to help dismantle and neutralise Syrian chemical and biological weapons along with several other European countries. Do you think it is a good call? Or is it an expense which the country cannot allow at the moment?
